It’s been quite a while that i have been testing the Realme X50. Realme X50 is a slightly high budget device. It’s the first Phone from Realme to come with the Snapdragon 765G.  Realme has always been great with their smartphone specs and pricing. They provide great value for money overall. Today let’s check whether Realme X50 too provides value for our money. I am going to divide this review between the Pros and cons of the Device.

First, let us take a look at the Pros of the Device.

Design and build quality

Realme X50 has a dimension of 163.8×75.8×8.8 mm and Weight’s about202 grams. The phone is a heavyweight and when it comes to weight management Realme has done a poor job on here.  Realme X50 has glass Design to both it’s front and back which has gorilla glass 5 protection. The phone has a fingerprint scanner underneath the display. The placement of the fingerprint scanner is nice and it’s always reachable. Coming to the performance of the fingerprint scanner it’s fast and accurate. There were no issues what so ever. Towards the back of the phone, there is the quad camera setup and the Realme branding. The right side of the phone contains the Volume rockers and the power button. The button quality is also nice. There is no cracking or anything like that.Coming to the left side of the sim tray is located there. The bottom of the Device contains the single firing loudspeaker. One thing to note here is that the speakers are Dolby supported. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is also present on the device which is nice to see. Realme has claimed that the phone is splash-proof. Realme X50 is available in two colors Glacier, Polar.

Realme X50 has a 6.67 inch LCD display. The device has a punch-hole display and Provides’s a screen to body ratio of 83.9%. Coming to the refresh rate of the Device the device has a 120 Hz refresh rate which means the scrolling experience is just lit in this Smartphone. Realme X50 has a pixel per inch density of 395 PPI.  The screen resolution is locked at Full HD. Realme X50 also supports multitouch.

Realme X50 is powered by the brand new Snapdragon 765 G processor which very powerful and at the same time power efficient. it’s a 7nm chip. The phone has 8 cores ( 2.4 GHz single-core key 475, 2.2Ghz single-core kryo 475, 1.8 GHz Hexa core kryo 475).  The architecture is based on 64 bit. Realme X50 comes with Adreno 620 GPU. The processor is so powerful and it’s also a gaming-centric processor combines with the GPU to provide as a seamless gaming experience. Playing pubg and all is just buttery smooth on Realme X50. When gaming is so smooth there is nothing much to talk about the daily drive usage. Everything is so fast and smooth that you feel like you are using a Flagship device. Snapdragon 765 G also supports 5g so the internet usage was also quite exceptional with this device.

Realme X50 has a quad-camera setup a primary sensor of 64 MP f/1.8 paired with a 12 MP f/3.0 telephoto lens, 8 MP f/2.3 ultrawide lens and a 2 MP f/2.4 dedicated macro lens.  The camera has capabilities of controlling Iso and exposure compensation manually. Due to the telephoto lens it has a support for digital zoom and also optical zoom.  The image resolution is 9000×7000. The main 64 MP takes brilliant photot’s during day time and perform considerably well In the night light too. There is a special night mode 3.0 which captures more light on darker condition. Telephoto lens does a good job in providing zoom in images. The optical zoom works greatly and the image quality is clear and crystal. The images taken with digital zoom tend’s to lose its detail. Portrait mode shoot too comes out to great. There is  no problem like overbluring or anything like that. The edge detection seem’s to better than the previously released Realme smartphone. The macro lens also take some mind blowing macro photography. It’s comes really handy when we try to focus close object. It’s a great addition to the camera setup. The back camera could shoot video’s at 4k in 30 fps.
Front camera: Realme X50 has a dual frot camera. A 13 MP f/2.2 primary Sensor and 8 MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens.  The image shoot with front camera is of high details and there is not much smoothening or beautifying of the face. Yes we do get the beauty mode and other stuff’s that come’s with Realme smartphone. The ultrawide help’ s in capturing large area and comes in handy when capturing group selfie. The front camera could shoot video’s at 1080p in 30 fps.

Realme X50 come’s with a non removable Li-po 4200 Mah battery. Talking about battery life i was able to get past a day easily even with my rough usage. The screen on time was around 5 -6 hrs. Charger provided with the box is a fast charger of 30w which charges the phone from 0 to 70% in 30 min.
Lets take a look at the Con’ s of the Device.

Realme X50 comes with Android 9 out of the box. It’s really disappointing to see Realme providing such an old version of Android even for their new smartphone’s. More over the phone as of now run’s Color Os which is very laggy and  not every user will like it’s interface. In future it might get upgraded to Realme Os which is closer to stock Android.

As of in my testing Realme X50 turned out to be  a great smartphone. Yes the Realme X50 is also great value for money smartphone as like Realme other Device. If you want a cheap 5g device that has exceptional performance, great display, good camera and battery life you should really consider buying yourself an Realme X50.
